How do emotions shape the way we see and experience landscapes? How does memory reconstruct the spaces we move through? Embodied Landscapes investigates these questions through photography, using light, texture, and movement to evoke a sense of presence, longing, and transformation.
Drawing on personal memories of rural Poland, as well as time spent in liminal spaces between cities and nature, the series reflects on how feelings are embedded in places and how landscapes, in turn, shape emotional experience. Each image holds a delicate tension between stillness and flux, clarity and distortion, familiarity and estrangement, mirroring the impermanence of human connection and memory.
The work resists traditional representations of landscape photography, instead embracing softness, layering, and abstraction to create a sense of immersion. Light bends and fractures across surfaces, water ripples into shifting patterns, reflections distort the boundaries between subject and environment—inviting viewers to lose themselves in the imagery, to experience rather than merely observe.
At the heart of Embodied Landscapes is the idea that landscapes hold echoes of our inner worlds—they are places of return, sites of transformation, and reminders of our interconnectedness with the natural world.
